Will see you all on Monday for FF. I'll be on twitter all weekend!
Taking my 'paint by numbers' to Grandma's house.

That's what you get when you let your heart win.

err so my day was interesting. I went into town, went into the only real fashion shop for miles, New Look, and took some picture of stuff I liked in there. I went into another shop and got told off for taking pictures...I understand, but I'm not exactly going to steal their designs... and they stole them from the high-end designers in the first place so they can't complain!

talk about hips! I think you have to have a real slim figure to wear this. It just accentuates the fact that I have an ass.

poser!

I loved this and it was only £20. So sweet.

I didn't like this at all when I tried it on, but now...I kinda like it!

hmmm. I liked this, but when I didn't have the hands in the pockets it looked boxy

hands up if you featured denim shirts in your fashion forward last monday! Someone reminded me that they are utterly awesome. <3

And I bought none of it! I was really impressed by New Look's interpretations of trends. Good job! Two thumbs up!

The rest of my day has been spent at grandma's. She's 85. There are a number of issues which i'm sure she wouldn't appreciate being batted about on the internet. Just trust me when I say it was a toughie! Will be spending every weekend with her and my aunt is organising for broadband to be put in. Maybe I can get grandma on twitter?

ooo. ooo. I nearly forgot. I bought a pale blue nail polish! It's purdy :)

"and the polish on her nail was chipped..."

After nearly 2 years of never painting my nails, I've suddenly got an obsession with nail polish and I was painting my nails earlier (badly), remembering how I really wanted black nail polish when I was a teen. My mum told me I couldn't have it, so she let me get bright orange instead! I wish I still had it!

Really loving the bright colours and really dark reds. I saw a girl wearing red glitter on her nails the other day. They were so fabulous I had to go up and tell her!

Loving these gorgeous nails tonight. It's inspired me to look after mine a bit better.

turtles!

love this colour <3

Oh and I'm having a healthy eating kick at the moment. I'm trying conscious eating instead of just stuffing my face. I'm a terrible one for emotional and comfort eating. I need to do this. I ate an entire Toblerone today...instead of lunch. That's never good!  Let's get me healthy again. Morning runs and lots of fruit and veg here I come.

Well those were two random things to throw together in a post; just a testament to how my brain works I guess :) Looking forward to my stint hosting FF from next Monday. Oh and i've started the 50 Theme Fashion Challenge over at Polyvore, so check me out ---> right...here. There's also a Fashion Forward group where you can post any of the sets you make using polyvore, for our Monday fashion parade.

Well I linked you up real good there didn't I?! This is probably one of the oddest posts I've done in a while...meh, I was feeling chatty :) Does any one know of a way to stop nail polish going bumpy?

Fashion Forward: Puffy vs Sleek.

Is it obvious that my wedding filled weekend has influenced my picks today? I think so!

I got to thinking about what kind of dress i'd pick to get married in and even after hours of clicking through pictures I still have no idea. I always thought i'd have a fitted dress rather than a puffy one. Part of my problem is that I call them "puffy dresses" to begin with, which isn't the most flattering term to use for the proper princess, sticky-outy style. And thinking about it now, having been around some of them for a while...I think i may end up being a puffy princess bride. (Not that I'm getting married. Boy, I could get myself in some real trouble here!)

eternity
I can't decide. Which would you pick? Leave a comment and i'll get back to you when I make up my mind.

Head on over to Obstinate Pursuit for more your Monday dose of fashion and maybe while you're there you'll  make some picks of your own. Fashion Forward will be back here at paperpocket next week and I have you all to myself for the whole of February...Valentines season! eeee for excitement! :D

xoxo

P.S. Mr, if you are reading this... I am in no way hinting that you should propose, but should you really, really want to... <3

Ignoring it only makes it stronger.

Ignoring it.

I've been on polyvore...Fashion Forward is done and ready for tomorrow! Just packing up my stuff, getting ready to go home for the first time since the beginning of December. Not sure how I feel about it, but I guess it's got to be done at some point. Any way in an attempt to vent my feelings, the above is what I came up with. Hope you likey :)

See you tomorrow peeps.

xoxo

Note to self: I am not a bride.

I think i'm starting to get a little wedding broody. My entire weekend has been wedding orientated, with trying on bridesmaid dresses yesterday and two, yes two, wedding fayres this morning. It was only half way through the second fayre that I thought I should take some pictures to blog...i'm feeling a little slow! Sorry :)

Fayres are really great fun though. Most people assumed I was the bride so every 5 seconds I got asked how my planning was going, have I got my dress yet and would I like to ride on a tractor to my ceremony? How about that?! It's like being 15 all over again, competing with the rest of my class mates to see who could arrive at the 5th year Ball in the strangest transport. At first I said...

"Oh, sorry. I'm not the bride, i'm just a bridesmaid."

After a few of those, I got a bit down at having to admit that I wasn't getting married. Normally, I wouldn't care, but when you're surrounded by 50 women that are real brides you start to feel...well...like you should be one too. So my pitiful explanations became extinct.

It was the 'Win a honeymoon' competition that did it. The man asked me out right. "Are you getting married?"

"Yes...yes I am. Oooo is that a goodie bag?!"

Next time i'll go with this tattooed across my forehead:

I am not a bride.

Fashion Forward: When in doubt...

only that little black dress will do.

I must admit, when i can't decide what to wear for an evening out i'll usually go back to the old faithful: my LBD. It's fabulous, fitted and always looks great no matter how many times it gets pulled out of the wardrobe. I was looking at the vast array of LBDs on Polyvore and actually this one could replace/hang next to my old one and the studs update it a bit. Of course when studs go off trend then i'd be in trouble...but until that day, I don't flipping care! It's gorgeous :D

Don't go thinking i'm planning a big night out any time soon, but a girl can dream! Until that evening shows up, i'm off to Clair's to have a look at what everyone else has picked this week. See ya later, Alligator.

Things that inspire me to keep moving forwards

One day i will have a space to create in. Maybe like these...

That one day i might be able to have these...

People I admire...

Charlie Chaplin

Zooey Deschanel

Rudolf Nureyev & Margot Fonteyn

Drew Barrymore

Elvis

Pretty woollen pictures...

Just a few things that keep me motivated to keep flipping in tough times :)

Fashion Forward: I do not need to be saved.

When I was a little girl I was quite odd and perhaps that is where today's post should end.

But it's not going to :)

Most of my friends dreamt of being a popstar, I on the other hand, did not. I went through my childhood wanting to be a great number of things one of which was an explorer. I dreamt of captaining ships, discovering new lands and collecting samples from plants. (You may wonder why I am not now a botanist...The answer to that lies in my constant daydreams. You should read some of my school reports! eeeek!) To this day I would love to be able to rock around wearing 1930s explorer type clothes. I swear I was born in the wrong era!

Items in this set:
Gloster Skirt, 70 GBP
Tread Boot, 160 GBP

My favourites from this set are the skirt and the boots. How I love the boots! Couldn't you just stomp around in them all day? The skirt is a mass of 'old' shirts sewn together to play around with volume and length. I don't think everyone could get away with this look, I'm not even sure I could pull it off myself, but a dream is a dream and I want those boots.

(Please ignore the price of the jacket! Ahem.)

If you want to play along with us today then hop over to Clair's blog where you can post your favourite fashion picks, have a laugh and meet some awesome folk.

Woop! It's good to be back :D

I think that's N.E.E.T!

How did I miss the December issue of N.E.E.T?

Ah. Yes. Well. I was slightly separated from my laptop for a wee while.

I'm all caught up now. I love that magazine, in all its photographic, handmade, vintage glory. Two things popped out at me in this issue and also on the blog...

Quite simply genius and i'm likely to spend at least 5 days crying into my pillow as I've missed what went on from May 09 to now. Luckily they have it all archived so you can have a poke through from the start. Hurrah! The idea was to wear and change up one dress for an entire year and by the looks of it, it's actually possible.

2. Wallpaper.

Nope. Not the "cover yourself in paste and end up sticking it diagonally on the wall by accident" kind. The desktop kind. The kind that make you sigh with happiness that your desktop is so flooping pretty. Take a gander.

Oh aaaand here's a peek at my ridiculous outfit that I was FORCED to wear when I went on my snow walk yesterday.

Blame it on my Mr. Everyone else had on light jackets and a pair of wooly gloves. I had to wear an official mountain coat, mountain gloves, fleecy mountain trousers underneath the normal mountain trousers, several layers of jumpers and to top it all off Mr brought a rucksack with all his mountain gear in...just in case. It's very nice that he cares so much about me!

PS. I apologise for the lameo title :D

When in France...

Bing bong. Only me!

As promised i've uploaded the pics I took in France and I think I did reasonably well on the photo front considering I forgot to take the memory card for my camera, rendering it utterly useless. Thank goodness for my phone and the loan of a camera!
