Fashion Forward: i like strolling in my oxfords...if i had a pair

Yay! It's Fashion Forward Monday!

I want a pair of oxfords so badly. I can just imagine myself schlepping across the city with these on my feet and the satchel slung around me. The sweater dress is gloriously oversized (and overpriced at $890!!!) and matched with my current comfort fave, leggings, it's perfect for shopping, studying, lazing and everything else under the sun! Boy, i can't stop looking at those shoes, they're perfect and flat, which solves my height issue with heels.
Strolling in Oxford

Perfectly quirky without over doing it.

My FF co-host, Clair, will be hosting next month's Fashion Forward so pop over to Obstinate Pursuit next Monday to join in our little fashion escapades!  She'll also be picking one fashion forwarder from October to receive a special treat. You've still got time to get in on the act, just pop your link in the box below and leave a comment.

:) Let the fun begin!

My Creative Space: Who needs pointy sticks?

I'm having so much fun finger knitting, i've knitted through quite a few balls of wool that i brought with me. I'm now down to my final ball of wool! What will i do when it's all gone?! For more creative spaces or to join in, pop over to Kootoyou.

Now on to some more pressing matters...My Mr sat on my Where's Wally book and put a HUUUUGE crease on one side of the cover :(

I'm driving back home tomorrow and i'm taking suggestions for my music playlist. I like songs I can sing along to at the top of my voice. Yeah. So if you see some one performing like a pop star while driving, it's almost certainly me. Unless you're in America...in which case it's probably not, but you never know!

Happy Thursday

the autumn walk part deux

As promised here are the rest of the autumn pictures from the other day.

there were so many pinecones, but i couldn't bring them all home :(

It's sad that autumn has nearly gone. I hadn't realised that the colour brown could come in so many beautiful variations and when winter comes it will all be one very dull, boring dark brown. I'd love for it to snow, but the likelihood is that it will melt in to the mud and become more dark brown slush. Can i keep autumn forever? It's so much nicer than being too hot or too cold and covered in mud.

Because i want to keep autumn for as long as possible...

how sweet is the acorn?

superchub bag. miss indie <3

Wouldn't it be great to go into hibernation?!

Had quite relaxing day today, doing nothing but tweet on twitter and scouting around for pretty pictures. I did some finger knitting too! Planning on making a little tutorial for you all. It's easy to pick up and not as tricky as using the old pointy sticks. Yay!

Hope you all had a fab-u-lous day <3

PS i will credit the pics tomorrow...i'm sleepy :)

Fashion Forward: Picking up stones

I have to admit i have a bit of an obsession with pretty necklaces, in particular ones with natural gemstones in! You can pick one up in the morning and they'll look great no matter what you're wearing. Here are a few of my favourites from Sunnyrisingmetal.

I love the last one. It's name is Moonpie...so wonderfully lovely.

If you want to join in the FF, take a look at our guidelines and leave a link to your post in the box below. Oh and wonderful Clair has created a button! Pop over and see her to get yours. Clair is also having a FF giveaway; one FF post from this month will be getting a special treat in the mail!

Have fun :)

the autumn walk part 1.

Oh boy, i love Autumn more than any other season. It's just so pretty. My Mr and i went for an Autumn walk in the New Forest this afternoon, specifically to see if any mushrooms and toadstools were peeking out.

I'm a little annoyed as Blogger won't let me upload any more photos :( so the rest, if i am allowed, will be uploaded sometime in the week. I shall bring you lots of autumn related handmade bits too.

Yay for autumn <3

xoxo

PS. Fashion Forward tomorrow, get your style on!

fires & bunny rabbits...but not all at the same time

i built this with my own two hands...

and a lighter. Well...you didn't expect me to rub sticks together all evening did you, getting blistery hands just for you? You did? Oh...

I'm up at my Mr's at the moment, playing cottages. We've spent today up at the garden centre getting broad bean seeds and looking at the bunnies. He says i can't have a rabbit until we've got our own place with lots of room for it to hop about. Which i understand...but still.

Does any one have any pets? I have two fish, Colin and Maggie, but they don't do much :(

Goof off .

Tuesdays were made for goofing around and having messy hair...

This evening has been set aside for a feat i've yet to conquer. Yes...

I AM GOING TO FIND WALLY!

Is it just me who has no idea where he is? I'm starting to think that actually there's no Wally at all. As i write this my brain brings it to my attention that my American followers don't need to find Wally, but Waldo instead. Seriously if these two red and white striped, lanky men can't be found there is something wrong with this world!

I may even knit myself a Wally hat and scarf set...or maybe i'd prefer a Wenda set, after all I am a girl and it would mean stripey tights :)

Fashion Forward: i heart comfort

Monday's here again, yay! Welcome back for the second week of Fashion Forward. Here's my offering...

I've been a little caught up in the whirlwind that involve skirts, heels and dresses recently and thinking about it yesterday, I realised that my fantasy wardrobe isn't my actual wardrobe, but that doesn't make my clothes any less fantastic.

Most of the time I like to be comfy. I hardly wear heels, mainly because i'm tall enough without them! I like a good pair of sneakers and a woollen wrap to snuggle up in while I watch day time tv. Love it! (I won't mention the Shaun the sheep slippers i've had since i was a teen...lets just pretend i don't wear them around the house!!!)

I'd be quite happy if i never had to dress in any way other than this.

Click here for a quick recap on the guidelines.
If you're joining in please remember to...

- Link to your post not your main blog page
- Pop a link back to this post in yours so other's can play along too
- Comment :)

You don't have to be a fashion guru to join in, we want to know what you like. If you love wearing rainbow striped jumpsuits, don't be scared to post it!! I love that everyone has a unique style <3

Can't wait to see what you guys are loving this week :)

xoxo

PS Clair will be giving away a little treat to a random FF post from this month. Watch out for the announcement in the next few weeks!

a heart was meant to be stitched upon

It's been a hectic week. I've spent most of it on a Prince's Trust business course, that was full of wonderful people and lots of learning. It really has been great.

While i'm chilling out this evening with a nice cup of tea, I thought i'd share this pretty, created by artist and poet Cathy Cullis. She makes some beautiful, dreamy pieces; well worth a looksy. There's also a blog dedicated to poetry where you can find "My love the traveller", the poem that's embroidered on the heart. Oh so pretty.

xoxo

ps. i'm feeling better now :)

poorly sick sick

i've got a yucky cold and i feel like snuggling up with a hot water bottle, a big blanket and a good book.

is it just me or do those socks remind you of raspberry ripple icecream?

A big thanks to all those who joined in the Fashion Forward yesterday and to those who left comments. Hopefully we'll see you again next week! <3

FF: I'm a Lumber-Jill...is that okay?

Yay for the first Fashion Forward post!

I’ve been adoring high-waisted clothes for a while and I saw this tutorial on Readymade and thought it was so cute. I just have to give this a go. Now i’m not one for skirts, mainly because they’re always to short or too long (What can I say? I’m a fussy customer!) but this could quite possibly be a turning point in my wardrobe…

And checked fabric!!!! Omg! If I don’t pilfer my dad’s shirt collection and make myself one of these soon, I swear my brain will sizzle up in its own excitement. Oversized cardi's and billowy tank tops are perfect for this look AND (!!!!) you can funk it up with a belt or heels.

<3

Okay...so here's how you can join in all the fun.

Clair and I will hosting FF together- one month you'll find us here, the next over at Clair's blog. It makes shuffling our hectic lives around much, much simpler! We will always point you in the right direction though :) Playing along is pimpsey simple, just show up here on a Monday and pop a link to your FF post in the boxy bit (see bottom of this post!). If you're stuck for ideas pick out a trend you love from a magazine; a collection of finds from etsy; a set from polyvore, a new accessory you've made yourself... we're a flexible bunch! And you don't have to play along every week if your inspiration has run dry.

OFFICIAL GUIDELINEY BIT :)

Here are a few rules to stick to:

1. Make sure the link you leave leads directly to your FF post, not your main blog page.

2. If you're posting about your own products make this clear to the reader, tell us about your store, the item and why it's current fashion. Please, no hard selling...this is for fun!

3. If you're playing along with us, remember to link back to here and visit other's posts and leave a comment 'cause...well it's nice :)

Yay, lets have some fashion fun <3

love love love

xoxo
