I drew a blank for an idea for this weeks picks so I threw it out to Twitter and Gemma asked me to find a way to wear this seasons trend of peaches and pale, pastel pinks. Which actually turned out to be the perfect thing for me to do; I can't wear them either. My skin is quite pale with a red tone to it, so put me within 10 feet of a pastel colour, a bucket of water has been tipped on my head and that's it...I've been washed out. So my challenge became finding a way to stop that from happening!
The way I see it, if a colour is going to wash you out, don't wear too much! I've used the peach as a base/accent colour and made use of layering warmer/darker colours to save the day. One of my good friends, the one I always take shopping with me (she has impeccable taste!), once told me to use colour wheels to check which colours could be worn together. Yep. On the opposite side to the peachy hues are the blues and greens. If you suffer from a red toned complexion you will know that green concealer wipes out the redness. This is basically what I tried to do with these outfits. Plus I think they're really pretty :) Loving the peach and green tunic with a great ruching detail on the arms. I hope you like them!

I love how you put together the polyvore sets with all the background details - lovely! And I really like the trench in the second outfit. Fancy tip about the color wheel - I'll have to remember that.
ReplyDelete"if a colour is going to wash you out, don't wear too much" - that's a nice trick ;)
ReplyDeletePeach is not my color, but I really like that tunic, so feminine!
I especially love the 2nd outfit with the blue stripe cardigan. I really like that way they are styling the tees this season, loose and long! The peach one is cute!
ReplyDelete@K.DeSantos: Really hoping loose and long tees hang around a while. The long line looks more like a normal length on me so you can imagine the old tees are more like crop tops! It's my pet hate of fashion!
ReplyDeleteThank you!!! I want that tunic sooo much
ReplyDelete@anapina: I just realised what I wrote...hehe. I meant not to wear too much of the colour!
ReplyDeleteOoh, I likey the tunic especially muchly :-)
ReplyDeleteI love all of your picks...great taste!
ReplyDeleteSigh, I actually look good in peach. Though I never wear it because, well, I feel like one of the Golden Girls. Cool.
ReplyDeleteLoving that second board!!
@Katherine/Paperpocket: Yes I too have the same problem with Tees. They are always too short for me. I hope they stay around forever too or else I will have to stock up on a bunch, but unfortunately I don't have the budget to do so.
ReplyDeleteHey Lady! Thanks so much for linking me up yesterday and sorry I didn't manage to check in before now. Been a busy day or two.
ReplyDeleteLove the colours combinations though - and you're right, just a little bit of a 'now' colour is perfect. Loving the tunic too x
